Back to School Need to Know
Academic Year 2024-25

Welcome to the beginning of a new semester! The start of a new year can be stressful. Here are some of general resources and things to know to have a successful semester... besides what time your first class is! All Auraria Campus based resources are available to ALL CCD students.

How to get a CCD ID Badge:

You will need a CCD ID Badge for building access, among other things. Need to get one? Follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the Student ID Center in the Tivoli Student Union (Suite 269)
  2. Bring a government issued ID, a copy of your semester schedule, and $24 (the cost of a badge)

For ID Station hours, visit ahec.edu/services-departments/id-station.

RTD College Pass:

Have you purchased your RTD CollegePass? Instead of paying for parking and gas, you can obtain you RTD pass which can be used all around the city for $250 from August 1 through September 30, 2024.

Your RTD CollegePass is valid through December 31, 2025.

You are eligible for the RTD CollegePass if:

  • You are a current Auraria Campus student registered for the Fall 2024 semester
  • You have a current valid Auraria Campus student ID

For more information on how to acquire your RTD CollegePass, visit ahec.edu/services-departments/id-station/rtd-collegepass-for-students.

*Note: Those who are 19 or younger ride for free.

RTD Maintenance:

After more than 30 years, RTD is investing in its oldest rail infrastructure to ensure the long-term integrity of the network with the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project. This is a multi-year project, with the final phase expected to be completed by 2025.

Passengers on the D & H lines will be rerouted to Union Station, with stops at Auraria West, Empower Field at Mile High and Ball Arena stations on or near campus. The light rail will not stop at the Colfax Ave at Auraria Station. Some bus routes may also be impacted. The summer projects are expected to impact commuters until September 2024.

Stay up to date with the RTD Rail Construction Project or visit AHEC Public Transit for additional transportation information. Sign up for RTD alerts for real-time updates.

This information can also be found at CCD.edu/RTDClosure.

Commuters will need to download the ParkMobile app to pay. For Auraria Campus parking lot options, visit ahec.edu/services-departments/parking/parking-lot-options.

Register your car to avoid increased parking rates on Fridays and weekends. To purchase a parking permit, visit ahec.edu/services-departments/parking/permit-parking.
