The mission of the Student Government Association is to represent the voice of CCD students. By joining SGA, students get involved on campus and support the interests of their fellow CityHawks.

SGA meets every Friday in Tivoli 329. You can also join them virtually on Webex. Please contact victor.torres-corona@ccd.edu for more information and how you can get involved.

As a member of SGA, you will serve your student body and assist the administration in making decisions that represent the students' opinions. Student government members assist in creating the Student Bylaws, including items such as the Student Code of Conduct, disciplinary procedures, and other decisions that affect the student population.

SGA Engagement Scholarship

The Engagement Scholarship is a program for Community College of Denver (CCD) students and employees to request funding for the development of student engagement opportunities that advance the institutional mission and the strategic plan of the college.

  • Student Led Organizations/Interest Groups 
  • CCD Campus Departments 
  • CCD Faculty/Instructors/Staff
  • Materials for Student Led Organization/Interest Group events/supplies
    • Ex. Robotics club can request funds for robot building kits 
  • Operational costs for student programming/events 
    • Ex. Speaker honorarium, supplies, food
  • Materials for Student Led Organization/Interest Group: Request up $500
  • Operational costs for student programming/events, conference registration, fees, flights, hotel registration: Request up to $1000
  1. Complete Engagement Scholarship application with all required documents.
    • Description of funding request and how it advances the institutional mission and or strategic plan of CCD
    • Budget (Please make as specific as possible)
  2. Create a funding proposal to present to Student Government Association (SGA) 
    • This can be a presentation, speech, or demonstration.
  3. Attend an Engagement Scholarship Proposal Presentation Day at Tivoli 329, Senate Chambers
    • February 14, 2025, 12-1:30pm 
    • March 14, 2024, 12-1:30pm
    • April 11, 2025, 12-1:30pm
    • May 9, 2025, 12-1:30pm
