Everything a CityHawk needs to know for the beginning of the spring semester!

Welcome to the beginning of the spring semester! We know starting a new semester can be difficult. To help you ease into your time at Community College of Denver (CCD), here are some of general resources and things to know to have a successful semester. All Auraria Campus based resources are available to ALL CCD students.

How to get a CCD ID Badge:

For building access, you will need a CCD ID Badge. Need to get one? Follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the Student ID Center in the Tivoli Student Union (Suite 269)
  2. Bring a government issued ID, a copy of your semester schedule, and $24 (the cost of a badge)

RTD College Pass:

Have you purchased your RTD CollegePass? Instead of paying for parking, gas, and full price for public transit, you can obtain you RTD pass which can be used all around the city for $250 starting Jan. 2, 2025. 

The RTD Mobile CollegePass is valid for all students with a current campus ID on trains, buses, and on trips to and from the airport.

Your Spring 2025 RTD CollegePass is valid through May 31, 2025.

You are eligible for the RTD CollegePass if:

  • You are a current Auraria Campus student registered for the Spring 2025 semester
  • You have a current valid Auraria Campus student ID

*Note: Those who are 19 or younger ride for free.

RTD Maintenance:

Stay up to date with the RTD Rail Construction Project or visit AHEC Public Transit for additional transportation information. Sign up for RTD alerts for real-time updates. 

Campus Accessible Shuttle: 

The Campus Accessible Shuttle (CAS) service provides free transportation for campus students, faculty, and staff with disabilities. Call 303-556-2001 to request a ride.

Students with disabilities are required to register with their institution's disability services office. To register, visit.ccd.edu/accessibility-center or call 303-556-3300.

All other campus community members need to register with Parking & Transportation Services. Once registered, a campus ID decal will be issued. An ID with a decal is required to ride the CAS. All students, faculty, staff, or campus visitors with temporary disabilities may visit the Parking & Transportation Services office for short-term CAS validation.

Parking on Campus: 

Parking rules and rates on campus varies by lot, some needing parking permits while others do not. The Auraria Campus has limited metered parking with hourly rates. Commuters will need to download the ParkMobile app to pay. For Auraria Campus parking lot options, visit ahec.edu/services-departments/parking/parking-lot-options.

Register your car to avoid increased parking rates on Fridays and weekends.

AurariaNet WiFi:

AurariaNet and AurariaNet Guest are a centralized network across the Auraria campus, meaning you do not need to log in and out between buildings.

Academic Advising Spring Hours:

There are multiple ways to get in touch with an Academic Adviser, including in-person and virtual meetings.You can schedule in-person or virtual appointments through Navigate. Visit ccd.edu/advising for more details.

Tivoli Station Bookstore:

Located in the Tivoli Student Union, the Tivoli Station Bookstore is where you can get all your books, CCD swag, and other essentials. Shop online for more CCD merchandise.

Campus Building & Weather Closures: Construction and/or accidents can affect buildings on the CCD’s three campuses. Currently, the Cherry Creek building in undergoing construction over the next year. Classrooms and office locations may be relocated or inaccessible. For updates, visit ccd.edu/building-closures

Health Resources: 

Physical Health:

Health Center at Auraria (HCA), located in the Plaza Building, is open to all CCD students, staff, and faculty. HCA offers an array of services ranging from yearly check-ups to STI testing to vaccines.

CCD Community Dental Hygiene Clinic: The Dental Hygiene Program has a fully functioning community dental hygiene clinic, with extremely discounted rates and Medicaid accepted. CCD is extremely proud to offer access to high quality dental care, a serious public health issue. To request an appointment, visit ccd.edu/dental-clinic.

 CCD’s community dental hygiene clinic caters to everyone, including kids (ages 3+), teens, and adults.

Mental Health:

CCD is committed to a campus culture that is a safe place to learn and connect with fellow CityHawks. While we like to think our campus is protected from the stressors of the world, we know national and local events can often occupy our attention and heart. 

We respect and understand you may have strong feelings about what is happening in the world around us. If you find it difficult to process these feelings while focusing on your education, CCD offers many different resources for students and staff. Know you are not alone – your CityHawk family will always be here to support you.

  • CCD’s Counseling Center is a great resource to have on campus. Every student is entitled to up to eight sessions per year. Visit the Counseling Center in the Tivoli Student Union Room 245 or call 303.352.6436 to schedule an appointment.

    Have you thought of trying online therapy? Community College of Denver has partnered with BetterMynd, an online therapy platform to offer CCD students access to FREE online mental health therapy. Sessions are private and confidential and can take place anywhere you’re most comfortable - during the day, at night, or on weekends. Wherever and whenever it’s best for you. Register for an account to get started.

  • A confidential 24/7 Mental Health and Victim Assistance Crisis Line is available for all students and staff. Call 1-844-493-8255 or text TALK to 38255. For more information, visit coloradocrisisservices.org.
  • The Phoenix Center at Auraria (PCA) provides free and confidential resources and assistance to survivors of interpersonal violence (relationship violence, sexual assault, and stalking). Call 303.315.7250 to schedule an appointment or visit The Phoenix Center at Auraria in the Tivoli Student Union Room 259. You may also contact PCA via email at info@thepca.org.
  • The LGBTQ+ Student Resource Center, located in the Tivoli Student Union Room 213, offers resources, information, and support related to gender identity, sexual orientation, romantic orientation, and/or similar experiences.

Safety Resources:

The Auraria Campus Police Department (ACPD) patrols the campus 24/7. We encourage you to reach out if you are feeling unsafe, need to report a crime, or see suspicious activity on campus. Learn more about campus safety at ccd.edu/campus-safety.

Rave Alerts: Community College of Denver utilizes a text (SMS) and email messaging system to deliver important information to the CCD community. Notifications will be used to deliver information about weather closures and immediate information during emergency situations.

All CCD students, faculty and staff who provide a text (SMS) capable phone number and/or email, either during registration or to Human Resources, will automatically be entered into the Emergency Notification System.

Navigate360 App: For more helpful information, download the Navigate360 App. There you can find lots of great resources to support you.

How to Download the Navigate360 App:

  1. Google Play Store: If you have an Android device, search for “Navigate360 Student” on the Google Play Store and download the app.
  2. Apple App Store: If you have an iPhone or iPad, search for “Navigate360 Student” on the Apple App Store and download the app.

After downloading, log in with your CCD username and password.

IT Help Desk: The IT Help Desk is here to offer assistance if you are having issues with your laptop/tablet or accessing certain CCD online necessities.

Their office has been temporally relocated to Cherry Creek Room 236 for in-person assistance. Contact helpdesk@ccd.edu or call 303-352-3030. You can also submit a ticket online.

Handshake: CCD has joined Handshake, the nation’s leading career platform. The goal is to help every student find a great job and build the foundations of a meaningful career.

CCD’s Swooper Market: Stop by the Swooper Market in Tivoli Room 259 to load up on fuel for your brain with a stocked food pantry! Learn more about Swooper Market.

ShareMeals App: Oftentimes, staff meetings or events happening around campus will have additional food left over from probably somewhere delicious. Instead of wasting it by throwing it away, students that have signed up for the app will be contacted about where to get these nummy, perfectly good (and safe) leftovers. Sign up for ShareMeals.

CCD Pet Food Pantry: Students and employees can stop by anytime at the Lowry Campus to pick up food for their furry companion! For additional details, call 303-365-8300.

Dog:

  • Small dog up to 15 pounds = up to 8 pounds of food every other month
  • Medium dog 20-45 pounds = up to 25 pounds of food every other month
  • Large dog 46 – 80 pounds = up to 40 pounds of food every other month
  • X-Large dog over 80 pounds = up to 50 pounds of food every other month

Cat:

  • Up to 8 pounds of food every other month

EXCEL! ZONE: The EXCEL! Zone, located on the 4th floor of Confluence, is ready to help you get ahead of your schoolwork!
