Associate Professor Nicole Servino has been teaching at CCD for over 11 years. As part of the college composition and reading program, she teaches composition and reading, with an emphasis on discipline-based topic and reading selections and use of observation and experience as a part of writing. Co-teaching and contextualization are her pedagogical passions.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts from East Carolina University and a Master of Fine Arts from Naropa University. Prior to joining CCD, she taught at Metropolitan State University, Community College of Aurora, Middlesex County College, and Shaw University.
Her favorite academic experience was participating in study abroad. She went to Belize and Guatemala as an undergrad, and participated in foreign exchange program with French students during high school. She finds that studying abroad is a one-of-a-kind educational opportunity.
Nicole has three children, two dogs, two cats, and a freshwater fish tank. She spends her spare time taking care of her family, and can often be found at the Denver Skate park, hiking, or at a local pool.
