Petition for Independence

If you are considered dependent on the FAFSA but are unable to provide parental information due to abuse, neglect, a lack of contact, or a strained relationship with both of your biological or adoptive parents, you may submit this Petition to be considered independent for financial aid. 

The 2024-2025 form applies to fall 2024, spring 2025 & summer 2025.
