Petition for In-State Tuition

Who uses this form? Continuing students who attended CCD and have paid non-resident tuition, or any student who was emancipated at 22 years of age or younger, shall have up to 30 days from the first day of class to complete this form. If proving emancipation, the Petition for In-State Tuition Application must be submitted with the Emancipation Form to be considered for in-state tuition.

The deadline for the Petition for In-State Tuition Application is 30 days from the first day of class.  It is the student's responsibility to pay for their classes based on non-resident tuition rates even if they are pending a decision for their residency status. If you do not wish to pay nonresident tuition fees students have until census date to drop their courses. Please review the academic calendar for all upcoming census dates and deadlines here.

Please note:

In-state tuition eligibility is determined case-by-case.  It is the responsibility of the petitioner to provide as much information and documentation as appropriate to document physical presence (apt lease, house warranty, utility bill, etc.) and intent (legal ties to Colorado, i.e., driver's license, CO taxes, CO paystub, etc.) and when necessary proof of citizenship status. Out-of-state legal ties can be considered as evidence indicating domicile outside of Colorado.  Residency classification will be determined based on the information submitted. The burden of proof is on the student.  Please visit the Office of Registration & Records in the Confluence Building, room 114 on the Auraria Campus if you have any questions about the process, or email your questions to CCD.Residency@ccd.edu.
