Data-driven Decision-making and Planning

Institutional Research, Analytics, & Effectiveness (IRAE) provides accurate, timely, easily accessible, relevant data and analyses to facilitate data-driven decision-making and planning at Community College of Denver.

We ask that you allow at least two weeks for us to fulfill your request. Although we endeavor to respond as quickly as possible to each request for data that we receive, our project backlog may at times cause inadvertent delays in our ability to respond to individual data requests.  

  • Internal data requests are submitted to our department using the data request form from the link below. Internal research data from our office is strictly for internal use.
  • Distribution outside CCD is prohibited unless approved in writing by a CCD dean or vice president.
  • External entities wishing to request CCD data need to contact CCD Institutional Research at CCD.IR@ccd.edu.

Completion Data Sets

Graduation & Transfer Rates

Community College of Denver is pleased to provide the following information regarding our institution's graduation/completion and transfer rates. The information is provided in compliance with the Higher Education Student Right to Know Act of 1965, as amended (Public Law 101-542). The rates reflect the graduation/completion and transfer status of students who began the cohort year as first-time, full-time degree or certificate seekers. The 4-year average Student Right-to-Know completion or graduation rate is 16%; the 4-year average Student Right-to-Know transfer rate is 14%. These rates are averaged over 4-year's worth of cohorts.

Graduation and transfer rates in this table are based on the cohort of first-time in college, full-time degree-seeking students who complete a certificate or degree within 150% of the time to a degree. Because CCD offers 4-year degrees, our current IPEDS cohort is Cohort Year 2015, which allows tracking of six years (150% of the time to a 4-year degree).  However, all the students in the Cohort Year 2015 were measured at three (3) years, which is 150% of the time to an associate's degree, since none of them were in a 4-year degree cohort. These rates do not include students who left the school to serve in the armed forces, on official church missions, or in the foreign service of the federal government. Students who died or were totally and permanently disabled are also excluded.

Graduate Follow-Up Survey

Each year, a survey is sent to the prior year's graduates of CCD to find out about their after-college educational and employment experiences. Data from this survey are reported to Colorado Community College System (CCCS) office and fulfill the requirements for Perkins data collection and reporting. Results are reviewed by college administration to search for ways to make CCD a better place for students to learn, grow, and fulfill their dreams.

Assessment at CCD

Every year, CCD presents a day where we provide a summary of our current assessment activities and engage in professional development to improve our assessment practices. This is a highly informative event with participants from both faculty and staff. Please join us as we continue our assessment journey.

  • It increases awareness of what students are learning.
  • It provides a framework for faculty discussions of course and program design.
  • It is a systematic method for departmental sequencing, planning, and improvements.
  • It makes learning intentional by explicitly stating expectations for learning.

Assessment focuses on analyzing student learning to determine whether students have acquired the skills, knowledge, and competencies associated with their program of study.
