Welcome to the Writing Zone!

The Writing Zone provides a collaborative space designed for CCD students seeking assistance with their writing assignments across various disciplines. Support is available both in-person and online through Webex appointments during business hours, ensuring that all students can access the help they need to succeed academically.

Located in room 409 of the Confluence building.

One-on-one online sessions are available through Accudemia appointments.

Schedule an appointment from Monday to Thursday, 10am - 4:00pm and Friday, 10:30am - 2:30pm.

How to be prepared for an online tutoring session:

  1. Create an Accudemia Account and Reset Password: Request a password
    • When creating your account, use your CCD student email.
    • Returning Accudemia Users: Log in here
    • Appointments are automatically set to 30 minutes long.
    • Accudemia offers up to five remote appointments a week.
  2. Download WebEx on your device before attending your online session.
    • Online sessions are through the meeting platform Webex.
    • You will receive the specific WebEx link through Accudemia and email that you can click to join the tutoring session.

We also offer a paper dropbox each semester where students can submit papers to receive feedback within 48 business hours.

When submitting to the dropbox, please include: 

  • In the body of your email, your S#, class number, and instructor’s first and last name
  • A copy of both your current draft and any rubrics or assignment sheets your instructor has provided for this assignment as an attachment to this email
    *Using a SharePoint or Google Docs link will lock us out of the materials, and we will be unable to view them.
  • A description of the kind of feedback you are looking for in the body of your email
