Honors Programs & Societies

Psi Beta National Honor Society in Psychology

Psi Beta is recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the Association of Psychological Science.

We are the only Psi Beta Chapter in Colorado. Membership is not limited to psychology majors. If you have an interest in any aspect of psychology, this is the club for you!

The mission of Psi Beta is to support and recognize the development of excellence in scholarship, leadership, and community service. Psi Beta membership is a well-respected sign of achievement early in one’s academic career. We are an active student organization offering leadership development, social, service, and academic opportunities. We provide fun and enriching opportunities for all CCD students interested in Psychology!

We now also have an Alumni Mentoring Program for our chapter; alumni who are currently attending Metropolitan State University of Denver and University of Colorado-Denver will be visiting our chapter this semester to share tips about transferring and success at the four-year college level and beyond.

Interested?

The only cost is a one-time fee of $55 for your national registration.

Graduation Regalia

Members receive recognition at an induction ceremony, a national certificate, pin and card, and permanent national registration with lifetime reference verification. Psi Beta membership also meets the requirement for GS 7 level (two levels higher than entry level) for numerous Federal occupations.

Psi Beta Membership Makes for Competitive Applications to College & Graduate School

Membership demonstrates academic excellence in the field of psychology and dedication to the goals embodied by psychology. A Psi Beta alumnus, Alexa Steed, has gone on to become the elected president of Psi Chi at CU-Denver in large part due to the experiences she gained as Psi Beta president while at CCD.

Research and Publication Opportunity

You can attend and participate in regional and annual conferences. Rocky Mountain Psychological association conference and American Psychological Association. Participate in poster presentation, audio\video presentation, meet and connect with other likeminded PSI Beta members and network for jobs, research and much more.

Mentoring

Members could participate in our Alumni Mentoring Program. Psi Beta alumni who are currently attending Metro State and UCD visit our chapter to share tips about transferring and success at the four-year college level and beyond.

Clinician Panel

Members can attend our annual clinician panel to ask questions and receive real-world information about what it's like to be a practicing psychologist.
