CCD’s chapter of Sigma Chi Eta, Beta Lambda, welcomes students who have declared communication as their degree program, earned an overall 3.0 GPA, and have completed at least three communication courses with a 3.25 GPA in the major.
As stated on the National Communication Association website, “Sigma Chi Eta inducts and rewards new outstanding communication students while exploring options for community college students to transfer to four-year colleges or universities or enter the workforce. Once inducted, a student is a member for life and is expected to always strive for excellence. It is the hope of SCH and NCA that each member will maintain a relationship with his or her alma mater, faculty, and other students of the discipline.”
The Six Goals of Sigma Chi Eta:
Student Fees are only $12! Life-long membership to Sigma Chi Eta is $30, which will be covered by the College. The only cost for you is $12 for graduation honor cords; this fee is to be paid at the Cashier’s Office prior to induction.
Members receive recognition at an induction ceremony, a national certificate, pin and card, and a permanent national registration with a lifetime membership.
Sigma Chi Eta is currently developing a mentoring and partnership program with Metropolitan State University of Denver's and University of Colorado Denver’s Lambda Pi Eta chapters.
In partnership with CCD’s Communication Club, Sigma Chi Eta engages the Auraria community through the creation, promotion, and hosting of events that will highlight, discuss, and develop personal, professional, and public communication strategies.
