Format of Test

This is a computer-based and multiple choice exam.

Items Allowed in Test

  • Machinery’s Handbook OR the Shop Reference for Students & Apprentices
  • A non-programmable calculator
  • Scratch paper and pencil will be provided

Time Limit

All exams are 90 minutes long.  

ID Requirement

  • A valid government issued photo ID.
  • Driver's license
  • Passport
  • Military ID
  • Permanent resident card

NIMS Registration & Test Fee

Please visit NIMS to register and sign up for the exams prior to your arrival at our testing center.

  1. You will need to pay a life time registration fee ($40.00) to NIMS.
  2. Sign up for the exams.  

$35.00 testing fee for Level I tests (Per exam payable to NIMS at the time of test registration.)
$50.00 testing fee for Level II and III tests (Per exam payable to NIMS at the time of test registration.)

CCD Testing Center Fee

There is a $15.00 CCD testing center fee. (Payable on test day)

Results

Credentials will be printed and mailed within one week by NIMS.

Retakes can be taken any time although all testing fees will still apply.
