Take a 'Gap Year' at CCD!

Keep chasing your dreams. You can stay close to home, and continue moving towards completing your college degree.

Taking a gap year at Community College of Denver is a great option during these uncertain times.

Our courses transfer to Colorado 4-year colleges

We are a fully-accredited institution, and hundreds of our classes are accepted for transfer into 4-year universities. The Colorado Department of Higher Education has negotiated transfer agreements with all public colleges and universities. Meet with us to discuss what classes you could take, then check with your home institution.

Save money while staying safe

Our tuition rate is one of the lowest in the state, with an average three-credit class costing less than $800 for Colorado state residents. Do the math, that’s often 40% less than a traditional 4-year college.

Enjoy small classes and dedicated faculty

Our classes average 25 learners, so your professors can give you personalized attention. Our professors have a master’s degree in their subject area, and in fact, many of our instructors also teach at 4-year universities (some at MSU Denver and CU Denver).

Our financial aid team is dedicated to supporting your pocketbook

We can help you apply for financial aid, grants and scholarships.  CCD has more than a million dollars in scholarship funds that we distribute every year.

Remote and online courses to maximize your safety

We offer many of our classes in a fully online format. Right now, many more of our classes have moved to a remote-learning format.  We’re addressing health and safety changes for those classes that require an in-person component.

Talk a tutor, advisor and/or student support specialist online

We offer one-on-one tutoring help if you should need assistance with your classes. We also offer many student events online, so you can still have a fun, if not entirely traditional, college experience. Additionally, we offer support services to all our students – such as counseling services, career planning, and tutoring. Academic advisors are able to help you make your gap year decisions.
