Community College of Denver Appoints Alberto Teixeira as Vice President of Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer

DENVER (June 2024) – Community College of Denver (CCD) has announced the appointment of Alberto Teixeira as its new Vice President of Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Teixeira will play a pivotal part in shaping CCD’s financial strategies and ensuring fiscal responsibility. 

In his new role, Teixeira will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of CCD’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting and planning, facilities and information technology services, and resource allocation. His strategic vision and collaborative approach are expected to further strengthen CCD’s financial position and support its mission of providing accessible, high-quality education to the Denver community.

For more than a decade, Teixeira has held various instructional and financial administrative roles and still serves as a part-time instructor, teaching business, management, and marketing within the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). He most recently served as the Senior Director for Budget, Business, and Procurement Services at Pikes Peak State College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

Before finding his calling in higher education, Teixeira honorably served in the United States Army as a non-commissioned Infantry officer, serving overseas for several years. Prior to his military service, he worked in the private sector in financial management for a tri-state area construction firm.

Teixeira earned his Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut, and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
