The first step to enrolling in CCD is to create an account and apply online. Don’t forget to save your student identification number.

  • There is no application fee.
  • College Opportunity Fund (COF) pays a portion of your total in-state tuition and is eligible for undergraduate students. Simply apply for the COF on your admissions application (see the last question). You can also learn more about COF here.

Please send official transcripts from your previous colleges or universities directly to the Office of Registration & Records. You can submit your official transcripts in one of the following formats:

How to Send an Official Transcript

Electronic TranscriptsOrder your transcript to be delivered directly to CCD in electronic format. If the service asks for an email address, the transcript must be sent to Transcripts@ccd.edu. This method is only for colleges that use any of the following methods for sending transcripts:

Note: If sending electronically, the transcript must be received from the vendor directly so be sure to provide Transcripts@ccd.edu as the recipient email address when ordering. Do not order electronic transcripts to be emailed to your personal email address and then forward to CCD; the transcript will be considered unofficial if you do so. What Happens Next?

Once official transcripts have been evaluated, we will notify you via email or text message that your credits have been evaluated and you can log into CCDConnect to review Degree Works, which will tell you what credits have been applied toward your declared program of study.

Please note important reminders:

  • We cannot begin evaluating transcripts without having a student ID number on file.
  • We accept transfer credits from regionally accredited institutions recommended by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and as specified by Colorado Community College System (CCCS) articulation agreements.
  • We will evaluate your transfer credits on a course-by-course basis. You must have a grade of a "C" or better.
  • Courses with a "Pass" or "Satisfactory" will only transfer if there is documentation on the back of the transcript showing that it is equivalent to a "C-" grade or higher.
  • Graduate and/or doctoral-level coursework will not automatically transfer into CCD. This will need approval by the Dean of the specific degree program. Contact our office with any questions you might have.
  • Coursework beyond 10 years may not automatically transfer. Please contact our office to inquire about the expiration of the coursework.
  • Only courses that apply to your designated program of study on the account will be automatically transferred during the evaluation process.

International Transcripts

If transcripts are from an institution outside of the U.S., they must be evaluated by an approved evaluation services agency and translated, if not in English, before they can be submitted to CCD. Approved translation agencies can be located at www.NACES.org. Send the official international transcript to one of the approved agencies listed here. You will need to click on “Current Members” to view the list of approved agencies. Be sure to request that an official copy of the course-by-course credit evaluation report be sent directly to CCD.

Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), your application for all federal and state grants, loans and work-study.

If you are receiving financial aid from another institution, you can use your existing FAFSA to apply for financial aid at CCD. Visit FAFSA.gov and log into your application using your FSA ID to add CCD's Federal Student Code: 009542

Authorize CCD to apply your COF stipend to discount your tuition bill through the “Authorize COF” link on CCDConnect under the Financial Aid & Payments tab.

Financial Aid Resources

In general, students who have completed college-level English and math coursework at a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a grade of “C” or higher are exempt and do not need to take a placement test. Students with minimum ACT/SAT scores within the past five (5) years may also be exempt. However, if the English and math assessment requirements are not met through the transfer of credits, you may need to provide unofficial/official test scores to the Testing Center or determine course placement through another means.

Your SOAR session covers all of the important information you need as you begin your adventure as a CCD student.
