Community College of Denver (CCD) is pleased to announce Dr. Gillian McKnight-Tutein as its new Vice President for Enrollment Administration & Student Success.
Previously, Dr. McKnight-Tutein served as the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs and Senior Academic Officer for Front Range Community College. She is a first-generation high school and college graduate. She earned an associate degree from the College of Boca Raton, a bachelor’s in psychology from Florida International University, a Master’s in Human Resources Development Administration, and a doctorate in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University.
She has taught at the community college and university level, presented at numerous higher education conferences, managed several million-dollar grants and contributed to publications.
“I believe that each of my students was born for greatness and that their potential is infinite” said Dr. McKnight-Tutein. “I also believe that TRiO students are equally capable and should have the same opportunities as PTK students.”
Throughout her career, Dr. McKnight-Tutein’s commitment to student success has been at the forefront of her work. During her 14 years in higher education, Gillian has focused her equity work in areas of funding, access, assessment, instructional design and curriculum development.
Prior to higher education, Dr. McKnight-Tutein worked at several Fortune 500 companies including Johnson and Johnson, Alamo, and Comcast, where she focused on the training and education of employees all over the world. Gillian brings her corporate experiences to bear when talking to students about their career aspirations and when partnering with organizations to build employment connections for students.
“I am thrilled and delighted that Dr. G. will be joining the CCD senior leadership team,” said enthused CCD president Dr. Everette Freeman. “She possesses the right blend of talent, passion, tenacity, and student-focus to quickly capture the hearts of all CityHawks.”
Dr. McKnight-Tutein begins at CCD on August 12.
