Stacie Amaya, a single mom with three children and a CCD paralegal student, is a recipient of the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship.
“CCD has meant a lot to me. I came here at such a dark time in my life and CCD was the exact thing I needed at the right time. It gave me a positive outlook on my future and turned the hope switch back on," said Amaya. "Receiving the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship was a great boost in keeping my education on track.”
Amaya is a member of the student government, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honors society and a recipient of the CCD President’s service award.
“CCD is thrilled with this opportunity to afford our non-traditional students the ability to receive additional money to attend college,” said Francie Anhut, Executive Director of the CCD Foundation. “The Daniel’s Fund has been a long-time supporter of CCD and we are grateful to them for their continued support.”
These need-based scholarships target specific candidates, including adult learners, foster care youth, GED recipients, juvenile justice youth, returning military, individuals pursuing EMT/paramedic training, and individuals pursing Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification.
“Boundless Opportunity Scholarships benefit non-traditional students who desire to create a better life by investing in their education,” explained Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “As our founder Bill Daniels once said, ‘America remains the greatest nation on Earth, where boundless opportunities still exist for each and every one of us’.”
